Survivorfest Running Event
The Survivorfest Running Event is held annually on the second weekend in June. It takes place in Sherwood Park, Alberta, on Treaty Six Territory.
It is a flat and fast 6-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour timed race, sanctioned by the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU). Two course loops are offered: Loop A (400 m track) and Loop B (1.69 km road/track mix). Both loops are certified as IAU Bronze Label events. The course direction changes at set intervals during the race.
Kids' races over distances of 400 m, 1600 m, and 2000 m are also held on Friday. Relay events are available for the 6-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour formats.
A fully stocked aid station operates for the full 24 hours. Music is played for over 18 hours. The event is livestreamed on YouTube.
All profits from the event are donated to the Saffron Centre, a local sexual assault centre. The event is inclusive and offers three gender categories. It is Trail Sisters Approved. Participants receive a technical t-shirt. A belt buckle is awarded for a performance of 100 miles or more. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
