Surrey Hills Half Marathon
This is a guided trail half marathon in the Surrey Hills that starts and finishes in Guildford. The advertised distance is 13 miles and the listed price is £25 per person. A car park is available at the meeting location and the course is a short run or taxi ride from a train station.
The route travels over a variety of trails and includes sections of the North Downs Way. Regular highlights are St Martha's Church and hill, the village of Shere, Newlands Corner and Hackhurst Downs. While St Martha's and the North Downs Way are always visited, the precise route changes from date to date.
The event is organised as a group run rather than a race. Participants should be able to sustain an average pace of about 10 minutes per mile (6 minutes per km) on trail for prolonged periods and have a suitable level of fitness. A full kit list is provided; Silva head torches are available for evening runs and Salomon trail shoes can be tested.
