Running of the Lights
Running of the Lights is a New Year’s Day running event held at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, North Carolina, on January 1, 2027. The course takes participants on foot through the Tanglewood Festival of Lights displays that are normally open to cars, allowing runners and walkers to see illuminated holiday displays up close.
The event offers multiple distance and entry options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1.75 miles Fun Run/Walk
Entry options include regular registration with a long-sleeve race shirt and a finisher medal, an economy registration that does not include a shirt or medal, and a virtual registration for participants who cannot attend in person. Before the race, participants gather for a celebratory toast and view a live stream of the Times Square Ball Drop at the start area. After finishing, the event provides hot chocolate, snacks, and a post-race gathering. Event features also include free race photos, live results, and unique awards available in the 5K.
