Event details
The Running of the Lights takes place on January 1, 2026 at Tanglewood Park, 7714 Idols Rd, Clemmons, NC 27012. The event routes run through the Tanglewood Festival of Lights and offers in-person and virtual options. Included with regular registration are a finishers medal, a custom race shirt, a celebratory toast, a live stream of the Times Square Ball Drop at the start line, race photos, and post-race hot chocolate and snacks.

Registration and policies
Registration options include Regular Registration (shirt and medal), Economy Registration, and Virtual Registration. Listed entry fees on the event pages are: 5K $40, Economy 5K $32, 1.75 Mile $28, Economy 1.75 Mile $25, and Virtual $35. Some pricing and registration deadlines are noted on the event pages.
The refund and transfer policy states no refunds will be issued within 30 days of the event. Requests made earlier than 30 days may be eligible for a 50% refund of the entry fee, excluding processing fees. Entries cannot be transferred or deferred to another event or year. Entries may be transferred to another individual for a $5 transfer fee; T-shirt size cannot be changed. If the race is canceled for reasons beyond the organizer’s control, refunds will not be made and race packets will be distributed at a location to be determined.
