Event overview
Superheroes for Autism is a community running event on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, NC. The event offers the following distances:
- 10K Race
- 5K Race
- Fun Run-Walk
Entry fees listed are $35 for the 10K, $30 for the 5K, and $25 for the Fun Run-Walk. The fee for the 10K and 5K increases after January 4, 2026. Race timing uses chip timing that records each participant from the moment they cross the starting line to when they cross the finish line. All finishers of the 5K and 10K receive a finisher medal.
Course, logistics and awards
The 5K uses the standard McAlpine course; online route maps are provided by the organizer. The 10K follows the 5K route plus an additional greenway segment. A small course alteration has been made to keep the route stroller friendly on the hill; organizers note the hill surface has been improved.
Packet pickup is available the day before and on race day, with on-site pickup at McAlpine Creek Park. Parking is accessed from Monroe Road, with lot parking on the right after entering.
Awards include 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall for male and female, plus age-group awards for male and female in these groups: 10 and under; 11-15; 16-20; 21-25; 26-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+.

The event supports Autism Services of Mecklenburg County (ASMC). ASMC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing housing and services for adults with autism in Charlotte since 1979. Entry fee profits are designated for ASMC. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
