Superheroes for Autism
Superheroes for Autism is an athletic event held at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event takes place on a cross country course that includes standard park trails and the local greenway. The course features a hill that has been prepared for smoother ground, and a specific modification is available for participants using strollers.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 10 km race
- 5 km race
- 2 miles fun run and walk
The 5 km and 10 km events provide chip timing for both the start and finish lines. Runners in these distances receive a finisher medal upon crossing the line. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, alongside age-based award certificates for various categories ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over.
The 2 miles fun run and walk is a non-timed event. Participants in this distance do not receive a medal or a numbered bib. Packet pickup is available on the day before the event at a local running store or at the park on the morning of the races. Parking is located inside McAlpine Creek Park, accessible via the entrance on Monroe Road. Proceeds from the registration fees support housing and services for adults with autism in Charlotte.
