About the race
Superheroes for Autism is a charity running event held on April 10, 2027, at McAlpine Creek Park, 8711 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC. Proceeds from entry fees support Autism Services of Mecklenburg County, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides housing and services for adults with autism.
The event program includes the following distances:
- 10K
- 5K
- 2 mile Fun Run-Walk
The 5K and 10K are chip timed at both start and finish, so each participant's official time is measured from when they cross the starting line to when they cross the finish line. All finishers in the 5K and 10K receive a medal. The Fun Run-Walk is not timed, and it does not issue bib numbers or medals.
Awards for the 5K and 10K include overall places 1 through 3 for male and female categories, plus age-group awards for male and female across these groups: 10 and under; 11-15; 16-20; 21-25; 26-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and over.
Route notes: the 5K and 10K run around the pond and include an out-and-back section on the Greenway. The Fun Run-Walk follows the same route but ends about 1.5 miles before the Greenway. Packet pickup is available the day before and on race day at specified locations. Registration opens October 20, 2026 and closes November 30, 2026; fees vary by distance.
