Event
The Superheroes for Autism is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, at McAlpine Creek Park, 8711 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC. The event includes the following distances:
- 10K Race
- 5K Race
- Fun Run-Walk
Entry, timing and logistics
Entry fees listed are $35 for the 10K, $30 for the 5K, and $25 for the Fun Run-Walk. Prices increase after January 31, 2026. Registration for the Fun Run-Walk ends on April 11, 2026. Packet pickup is offered in two ways: on Friday, April 11 (time TBD) and on race day at McAlpine Creek Park. Parking is accessed from Monroe Road; once inside the park, parking is on the right.
The event uses chip timing at both the start and the finish so official times are measured between the starting line and the finish line. All finishers in the 5K and 10K receive a finisher medal at the finish.
Course and awards
The 5K uses the standard McAlpine course; a small stroller-friendly alteration is made for the hill and the hill surface has been improved. The 10K route will combine the 5K course with the Greenway.
Awards for the 5K and 10K include 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall for male and female, plus age-based first place certificates for male and female in these groups: 10 and under; 11-15; 16-20; 21-25; 26-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+. All entry fee profits support Autism Services of Mecklenburg County, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing housing and services for adults with autism in Charlotte since 1979.
