Superhero for Hope 8th Annual Run/Walk 5K
The Superhero for Hope 8th Annual Run/Walk 5K is an event presented by the Medical Society of Delaware. The proceeds support the MSD Campaign for Kids, an initiative established to address critical issues affecting youth in Delaware, including mental health, obesity, and bullying. The event takes place at Rockford Park in Wilmington, Delaware.
Participants can choose from the following categories:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Competitive Walking 5K (Strictly for walkers only, no running or jogging permitted)
The course is a shaded route that begins and finishes near the Rockford Tower. It includes one loop around the park, an out-and-back section via Tower Drive and Pennsylvania Avenue with a turnaround at A.I. Middle School, and a final loop within the park. The race is chip-timed using the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System.
Registered participants receive a unisex t-shirt and access to post-race refreshments and music. Awards are presented to the overall top male and female finishers, top masters, and the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 13 and under to 70 and over. Separate awards are also provided for the top three male and female competitive walkers. Due to insurance liability, dogs are not permitted at the event and bibs are non-transferable.
