Superhero for Hope 8th Annual Run/Walk 5K
The Superhero for Hope 8th Annual Run/Walk 5K is a community 5K event presented by the Medical Society of Delaware and held at Rockford Park, Lookout Drive, Wilmington, DE on October 10, 2026. The event supports the MSD Campaign for Kids, an initiative focused on seven youth issues: obesity, bullying, violence, intelligent decisions, opioid abuse, underage drinking, and suicide. Presentations and educational efforts related to these topics are part of the campaign.
Race options include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Competitive Walking 5K for walkers who must walk the entire race; running or jogging is not permitted in this category.
The course begins and finishes near the Rockford Tower, follows one loop of the park, continues out Tower Drive to Penna Ave with a turnaround at A.I. Middle School, and returns for an additional loop around the park. The route is described as shaded in parts.
Amenities listed include tee shirts in unisex sizing, post-race refreshments, and music. Awards are given by gun time for overall top finishers and by chip time for age groups; top walkers receive awards. Chip timing is provided using the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System. Additional event policies note that dogs are not allowed and bibs are non-transferable. Results and photos are posted online after the event.
