Superhero for Hope 8th Annual Run/Walk 5K
This event is a 5K run and a competitive walking 5K presented by the Medical Society of Delaware to benefit the MSD Campaign for Kids. The campaign, launched in 2013, focuses on seven issues affecting Delaware youth: obesity, bullying, violence, intelligent decisions, opioid abuse, underage drinking, and suicide. The event supports education and awareness programs delivered in schools and communities.
The course is centered at Rockford Park, Lookout Drive, Wilmington, DE, with start and finish near the Rockford Tower. The route includes one loop of the park, an out and back along Tower Drive to Penna Avenue with a turnaround at A.I. Middle School, and a second loop through the park. The description notes a shaded route for early morning running.
