Superhero Miles: a Miami Joy Project 5K (Miami)
The event takes place on September 13, 2026 at Tropical Park in Miami, Florida, located at 7900 SW 40th St. It is organized as a community 5K along the park paths.
Participants move along a course with designated superhero checkpoints where they collect pieces of a costume such as capes, masks, gloves, and other accessories. By the finish many participants will have assembled a full costume that represents bringing joy, hope, and kindness to a child.
The 5K is professionally chip timed by Victory Sports. Every participant receives an official race shirt, a finisher medal, and a personalized bib with an RFID timing chip. Awards are given to the top overall finishers and age group winners. Race day includes music and interactive on-course elements.
Miami Joy Project, Inc. is a nonprofit focused on celebrating children with special needs and medically complex children. The organization provides celebrations, gifts, parties, and outreach at PPECs, hospitals, schools, and care facilities across South Florida to help children feel seen and valued.
Registration opens May 8, 2026 and closes July 31, 2026. The registration fee is $35. Every registration, sponsorship, and donation supports Miami Joy Project programs and events for children and families. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
