Superhero 5K, Kids Fun Run & Walk
Owensboro Health Foundation and Owensboro Health Healthpark organize a community event to honor cancer survivors and raise funds for the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center. Proceeds provide assistance, support, and resources for patients and their families.
The event includes these distances:
- 5K Race
- Kids Fun Run (half mile)
- Superhero Walk
Entry details noted by the organizer include a reduced 5K entry fee and a higher fee after the early period, a Kids Fun Run fee of $10 per child, and a $30 fee per walk team member with cancer survivors able to participate at no charge. The first 200 children registered for the Kids Fun Run receive a medal and a t-shirt; a guaranteed participant shirt requires registration by the organizer's stated deadline.
Teams may register without a size limit and may participate in honor or in memory of someone. Each lap of the Superhero Walk has symbolic meaning: a lap for survivors, a lap for caregivers, and a lap in memory of those lost. Awards are planned for race finishers by age category, and prizes are listed for top fundraisers and event winners.
