Superbowl Tailgate Trot
The Superbowl Tailgate Trot is an annual running event held in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The competition takes place at the Lehigh Parkway, with the start and base of operations located at the LVRR Clubhouse. Participants compete on a course covering a total distance of 10 km.
The race features multiple competition categories, organized into twelve specific age groups. These groups begin with participants aged 10-14 and continue in five-year increments up to 70 and over. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, with amounts of $75, $50, and $25 respectively. Additionally, a cash prize is designated for the top overall Masters male and female finishers. Those who place in the top three of their specific age groups receive gift certificates provided by local sports shops.
Registration for the event is available online and must be completed prior to the race day, as there is no registration available on-site. The organizers maintain strict policies regarding entry fees and bib ownership; refunds, transfers, or deferrals are not permitted. Furthermore, the event prohibits the use of unofficial bibs or running without registration, with penalties including a one-year ban from future organization events for those involved.
