SunSmart 5K 2027
SunSmart 5K is a community fundraising event held at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park in Key Biscayne, Florida (1200 Crandon Blvd, Key Biscayne, FL 33149). The program includes a main 5K walk/run and a separate kids dash, plus free skin cancer screenings and educational activities about sun protection.

The event’s stated aims are to provide free skin cancer screenings performed by University of Miami dermatologists, to educate the community about proper sun protection and sunscreen use, and to raise funds for skin cancer research. Proceeds are directed to the University of Miami Dr. Philip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery and to Sylvester Cancer Center for skin cancer research.
