Event overview
The Sunset Scurry is a community running event on August 7, 2026 at Americana Park in Annandale, VA. It offers two race distances and a virtual participation option. Race points count toward the organizer's Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Summer Series. Results are chip timed and live results will be available during the event with final results and series points posted the Monday after the race.

Course and facilities
The route is paved with very limited elevation gain. The 10k course is an out-and-back run completed twice. Water stations are placed along the course - three stations on the 10k at approximately mile 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65, and one station on the 5k at approximately mile 1.55; Gatorade is provided at some stations. Restrooms are available as portable units at the ball park. Parking at Americana Park is limited; additional parking is available at a nearby community college west on Little River Turnpike. A latitude and longitude pin is provided for navigation.
Registration, services and awards
Entry fees are tiered: the 5k is listed at $30 until July 31 ($35 after), the 10k at $45 until July 31 ($50 after); prices increase on race morning by $5. Registered participants receive a finisher medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations before July 28. Race day registration and on-site packet pickup are available. Awards include top three men and women overall and first and second place in several age groups; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. Benefiting charity: Nadia’s Initiative, an organization that supports rebuilding communities in crisis and advocacy for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence.
