Sunset Lake Triathlon
The Sunset Lake Triathlon # takes place Saturday June 20 to Sunday June 21, 2026 in Bridgeton, New Jersey (79 Park Dr W, 08302). The event offers multiple race formats including Olympic and Sprint triathlons, duathlon, aquabike, swim/run, bike only, and several relay options. The event is part of the DQ Events Grand Prix and the DQ Events Club Challenge. The Cohanzick Zoo is the charity partner.
Courses and logistics
The swim and run portions occur in and around Bridgeton Park and the Cohanzick Zoo on paved trails and closed roads. The run course is described as traffic free. The bike portion uses scenic country roads, is heavily monitored by police, and will be partially closed with limited local traffic. The bike course for the Bike Only race and the Olympic distance is two loops. Parking is located at the high school about 1/2 mile from transition (51 West Ave N). The water temperature was 73 degrees as of Friday afternoon. This is a USAT sanctioned event and participants must have an active USAT membership. On-site services include a mobile bike mechanic from Gradient Bike Shop and pre/postrace stretching and massages from NovaCare Rehabilitation.

- Sprint: 1/4 mile swim, 13 mile bike, 5k run
- Olympic: 1500 m swim, 26 mile bike, 10k run (2 loops)
- Duathlon: 2 mile run, 13 mile bike, 5k run
- Aquabike: 1/4 mile swim, 13 mile bike
- Swim/Run: 1/4 mile swim, 5k run
- Bike Only: 26 mile time trial
Awards and divisions
Awards include overall top placings and age group awards. Triathlon divisions list top 3 male and female overall individuals and top 3 in age groups with standard age brackets from 14 & under up to 75 & over. Clydesdale (male 220+ lbs) and Athena (female 165+ lbs) divisions are scored. There are awards for a Physically Challenged/Intellectual Disability Open division, an overall non-binary award, and top relay teams.
