49th Annual Sunrise on the Square 5K
The 49th Annual Sunrise on the Square 5K is held in Downtown Newnan along Main Street, Newnan, GA 30263. The event is co-hosted by the City of Newnan Leisure Services department and Main Street Newnan and benefits the Newnan High School Record-Breaking Booster Club NXC.
The course begins in downtown and travels through "The City of Homes," passing historic in-town neighborhoods and the commercial district. The 5K is USATF certified and uses chipped timing (USATF 5K GA19040WC). Recorded times can be used for seeding in the Peachtree 10K provided runners submit the required information.
Awards are presented to overall male and female finishers, overall male and female masters, and the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 10 and under; 11-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; and 70 and over.
On-site registration and check-in are available, and late registration with early packet pick-up is offered the day before at Dragonfly Running Co., 10 Lagrange St, in Downtown Newnan. Entry is listed at USD 30. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
