49th Annual Sunrise on the Square 5K
The 49th Annual Sunrise on the Square 5K takes place in Downtown Newnan on Main Street in Newnan, Georgia. The course starts in downtown and runs through historic in-town neighborhoods and the commercial district known as The City of Homes. The race is USATF certified (USATF 5K GA19040WC) and uses chip timing.
The event is co-hosted by the City of Newnan Leisure Services department and Main Street Newnan, and it benefits the Newnan High School Record-Breaking Booster Club NXC. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers, overall male and female masters, and the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 10 and under; 11 to 14; 15 to 19; 20 to 24; 25 to 29; 30 to 34; 35 to 39; 40 to 44; 45 to 49; 50 to 54; 55 to 59; 60 to 64; 65 to 69; and 70 and over. Late registration and early packet pick-up are available on Friday, September 4 at Dragonfly Running Co., 10 Lagrange St, Downtown Newnan. The listed entry price for the Running 5K individual age group open category is USD 30. Chip times can be used for Peachtree 10K seeding if runners submit the required information.
