Sunny Slope 5K Fun Run/Walk 2026
The Sunny Slope 5K Fun Run/Walk is the second annual community event held at Door County Land Trust - Oak Road Nature Preserve in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. The event is a single 5K run/walk conducted as a no frills activity: no bibs, no race timer, no t-shirts, and no medals. One hundred percent of all net proceeds benefit Lakeshore CAP Door County Food Pantry.
The event fee is $25 for adults. Children under 17 may participate for $5 when accompanied by a paid adult. Refunds are not allowed for this event.
Lakeshore CAP Door County Food Pantry is a non-sectarian, not-for-profit program that provides ongoing and emergency healthy food assistance to low- and limited-income households. The pantry is located at 131 S. Third Avenue, Sturgeon Bay, and is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Food may be picked up once per month, with additional assistance available in emergency situations. The pantry serves Wisconsin residents living at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. In 2025 the pantry served 6,308 Door County residents and distributed more than 101 tons of food. Current needs include soups, tuna, macaroni and cheese, pasta, rice, cereal, crackers, canned chicken, baked beans, personal care products, and granola bars.
Participants are asked to follow Leave No Trace practices and to carry out all items they bring, including garbage. Sponsors for 2026 include Scotty's Pub + Grub, Keltgen Family Chiropractic, Bridge Up Brewing, Pinky Promise Coffee Roasters, Blasier Performance of Door County, Rusty Tractor - Door County - Breakfast Barn, Madison Avenue Market, Stone Hedge Golf and Pub, and Junion Sport Fishing.
