17th Annual Crossroads Trail Run
The Crossroads Trail Run is a multi-distance event hosted at the Crossroads at Big Creek Nature Preserve in Sturgeon Bay. Open to participants of various ages and abilities, the event serves as a fundraiser for the preserve's environmental stewardship, education, and restoration missions. This event was historically Door County's first trail run.
The event offers three distinct distance options:
- 2K course
- 5K course
- 10K course
The courses are chip-timed to accommodate a staggered start for each route. For participant support, the 5K route includes two water stations, while the 10K route features three water stations. All finishers receive a native tree provided by Evergreen Nursery along with post-race snacks. Individual awards are presented following the conclusion of the timed events.
The trails are located at 2041 Michigan Street. To help maintain the preserve, certain restrictions are in place during the event: bicycles and shoes with spikes are prohibited on the course. While dogs are permitted on the property when kept on a leash, they are not allowed to accompany participants on the race course. Pre-race packet pick-up is located at the Collins Learning Center in the days leading up to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
