Sun Run: La Primera 5K/10K Roadrace + FitKidz Mile – 2027 Date TBD
Sun Run: La Primera is scheduled for January 2027 with the specific date to be determined. The event is set at Danny Lopez Park, 4300 N Silverbell Rd, Tucson, AZ 85745. The course follows a loop around the Santa Cruz River Path and includes gently rolling hills rather than an out-and-back layout. The 10K is part of The Running Shop SAR Grand Prix series.

Both the 5K and 10K award the top three finishers in standard five-year age groups. The first 500 registered participants receive a race t-shirt and a medal. FitKidz entries use an electronic timing system and children are assigned bib numbers; organizers advise registering children before race day to ensure accurate results. Packet pickup is available before race day at The Running Shop and additional pickup is provided on race day.
The event names Gratitude and Grace Foundation as a beneficiary.
