Summer XC Series - Gardiner, NY
The 52nd Summer XC Series is an annual cross country series organized by Shawangunk Runners since 1974. The series uses carriage roads on the Shawangunk Ridge and includes four distinct courses with distances that range from 3 miles to 4.7 miles. The series has a participant limit of 250.
The schedule lists weekly races on Mondays in July with an awards event and a rail trail fun run in early August. Course details:
- 4.7 miles Undercliff/Overcliff at West Trapps Entry, Mohonk Preserve
- 3 miles Patterson’s Pellet at Lake Minnewaska, Minnewaska State Park Preserve
- 4 miles Blueberry Run at Lake Minnewaska, Minnewaska State Park Preserve
- 4.3 miles Lou’s Run at Spring Farm Trailhead, Mohonk Preserve
- Award Ceremony and Rail Trail Fun Run at Garvan’s Gastropub, New Paltz
Series registration is offered at a fee structure for the whole series: $25 for an individual, $40 for a family of up to four. Students age 22 and under who register as individuals are eligible for a $15 rebate. Shawangunk Runners club members may register at no charge. Some Minnewaska events note a $10 per car parking fee.
