Summer Solstice Challenge 2026 - Abberton Reservoir
Held on 21 June 2026 at the Abberton Reservoir Visitors Centre near Colchester, this event is delivered in association with Essex Wildlife Trust, which will receive a donation from event proceeds.
Runners complete repeated laps of a loop described as just over 5 km around the reservoir. The event is organised as a timed challenge that runs for up to six hours; participants may choose how long to run, from shorter efforts up to the full six-hour period.
Laps start and finish at the Visitors Centre, so each circuit passes a free, well-stocked feed station located there. The Visitors Centre remains open during the event and offers refreshments for purchase for spectators and visitors.
The entry fee is £23 and includes a medal. There is an option to purchase an event t-shirt or vest for £15 during sign-up.
