Summer Sizzler - Grand Rapids
The Summer Sizzler is an annual running event held in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It offers a variety of road racing distances to accommodate different participants, alongside a virtual race option for those unable to attend in person. The event features chip-timing with live results and awards for the main distances.
Participants can choose from several event options:
- 50m Kids Dash specifically for children aged 10 and under.
- 1 Mile untimed run.
- 5k (3.1 miles) timed race.
- 10k (6.2 miles) timed race.
- 15k (9.32 miles) timed race.
Registered participants in the 5k, 10k, and 15k receive a designer shirt, a custom bib, and a finisher medal. The 1 Mile participants also receive a shirt and medal, though their event is not timed. The Kids Dash includes a youth-sized shirt, a mini bib, and a specifically crafted medal. Children may participate in the dash for free if they do not require the shirt and medal.
Amenities at the event include free race photos and various refreshments at the finish line, such as Kona Ice. Registration fees vary by distance and age, with lower pricing available for participants aged 12 and under. Groups can utilize a team registration system where reaching certain participant milestones triggers partial refunds for team members.
