Summer Sizzler - Denver
The Summer Sizzler is an annual running event held at Carpenter Park and the Thornton Recreation Center Park in Thornton, Colorado. This event features several distances to accommodate a variety of participants, including chip-timed competitive races and untimed fun runs.
The event offers the following distances:
- 15k (6.2 miles)
- 10k (6.2 miles)
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile (untimed)
- Kids Dash (50m, untimed for ages 10 and under)
The 5k, 10k, and 15k races feature chip-timing with live results and awards. Participants in these categories receive a custom bib, a designer shirt, and a finisher medal. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash are untimed events; however, registered participants still receive event swag including shirts and medals. Children who wish to participate in the Kids Dash without receiving a shirt or medal may join the run at no cost.
Finisher amenities include free photos, treats at the finish line, and shaved ice. For those unable to attend the physical location, a virtual race option is available, allowing participants to run at a time and place of their choosing. Virtual registration includes a digital bib and the mailing of a shirt and medal after the event date.
Group registration is supported through a team system. If a team reaches four members, each person receives a partial refund, with an additional refund provided if the team reaches ten members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
