Event
The Summer Session 10k & 5k takes place at Trailside Brewing Co, Lenox Park Drive, Hendersonville, NC (873 Lenox Park Dr, Hendersonville, NC 28739, US). The courses start in front of Trailside Brewing and run on the Ecusta Trail, an out-and-back route on a greenway converted from a rail line. A portion of race proceeds will be donated to the Mills River Partnership.

The Sunshine Sprint includes a finisher medal and race bib; shirts may be added during checkout. Virtual options are available; virtual runners receive the race shirt, medal, and bib by mail within the US and are not eligible for awards. Race registration for the 10k and 5k includes a commemorative race shirt, a finisher medal, and a Trailside beer (21+) or an N/A beverage.
Awards and policies
Awards are given for 1st–3rd places in male, nonbinary, and female categories, plus overall masters (40+) and grand masters (50+). Age-group awards are Trailside Brewing pint glasses for the top three in each listed age bracket (0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+). The event has a no-refund policy; transfers to a virtual entry are allowed up to five days before the event, with a fee or packet pickup options after that cutoff.
