Summer Session 10k & 5k
Summer Session 10k & 5k is held in Hendersonville, North Carolina on June 27, 2026, at Trailside Brewing at Lennox Station. The event offers the following distances:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- Sunshine Kids Sprint : 0.25 mile (untimed; includes medal and bib)
Both adult courses start in front of Trailside Brewing and are out-and-back routes on the Ecusta Trail, a greenway converted from a former rail line. A portion of race proceeds will be donated to the Mills River Partnership, whose mission includes preserving and improving water quality in the Mills River.
Race registration for the 10k and 5k includes a commemorative race shirt, a finisher medal, and a Trailside Beer (21+) or nonalcoholic beverage option. Virtual entries are available; virtual runners receive the shirt, medal, and bib by mail within the United States and are not eligible for awards. Overall awards for male, female, and nonbinary categories include gift certificates to Fleet Feet Asheville, and age group awards are Trailside Brewing pint glasses for top finishers across standard age brackets.
Packet pick up is available at Trailside Brewing the day before the event and on race day. Transfers to another runner, a different distance, or to the virtual option are allowed up to five days before the event; fees and shipping rules apply after that cutoff.
