Summer Session 10k & 5k at Trailside Brewing
The Summer Session 10k & 5k are trail races hosted at Trailside Brewing at Lennox station in Hendersonville. Both the 10k and 5k courses are out-and-back routes run entirely on the Ecusta Trail greenway, a converted rail line. Runners receive chip timing, a finisher medal, a race shirt, and one beverage from Trailside Brewing or a nonalcoholic option as part of registration. A portion of race proceeds will be donated to the Mills River Partnership.
A kids Sunshine Sprint of 0.25 mile is offered as an untimed event. The Sunshine Sprint entry includes a finisher medal and race bib for a stated fee; participants may add a race shirt for an additional fee at checkout, with youth small and medium sizes available. There are no awards for the Sunshine Sprint.
Awards for the 5k and 10k include overall prizes in male, female, and nonbinary categories, masters and grand masters awards, and age group awards presented as Trailside Brewing pint glasses for top finishers in standard age brackets. Age group awards are not shipped.
Event logistics note that Trailside Brewing parking is limited and volunteers assist with parking; additional street parking is available nearby. Dogs and animals are not permitted to run with participants except approved service animals with prior documentation. Strollers are permitted and should start at the back of the pack. Virtual participation is available with US shipping only for mailed race items. Transfers to virtual or other runners are allowed up to five days before the event, after which fees may apply.
