Summer Sendoff 5K & 1 Mile

The Summer Sendoff 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk takes place on August 15, 2026 in Chester Springs at Pickering Valley Elementary School and Eagle Crossroads Park, 121 Byers Road, PA 19425. The event is presented as a rain or shine community gathering and marks its fifth annual edition.

Two event distances are offered:

1 Mile walk with games along the route
5K run on the "Byers Loop" course

Timing for the 5K is provided by 2L Race Services. Registered participants receive a 2026 Summer Sendoff T shirt. Awards include cash prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers and medals for the top three in each age group from 9 and under through 70 plus. Additional features at the start and finish area include music, a water station, and a tent. The event also offers raffle baskets and bib number prizes.

A portion of each registration is donated to Best Buddies, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on opportunities and inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
