Summer Meltdown Half Marathon - Houston
The Summer Meltdown Half Marathon takes place at Brazos River Park in Sugarland, Texas. This summer event features a variety of distances held within the natural landscapes of the park, including shaded trails, riverside paths, and rolling hills. The course consists of mixed surfaces such as paved trails, crushed granite, and dirt paths.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- Half Marathon: A 13.1-mile chip-timed race.
- Quarter Marathon: A 6.55-mile chip-timed race.
- 5K Run: A 3.11-mile chip-timed race.
- 1 Mile Run: A non-timed event for all experience levels.
- Kids Dash: A 50-meter (approximately 20-yard) dash for children aged 10 and under.
- Virtual Run: A 13.1-mile remote participation option.
The event includes a race rally tent where finishers can find snacks and refreshments. Water stations are positioned along the course to assist runners. Live results and awards are available at the registration tent immediately following the finish. Award categories include overall male and female winners, masters categories (age 40+), and various age groups ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over.
