Summer Forest Half Marathon

Event overview
The Summer Forest event offers three race distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half-marathon
The event takes place at Prince William Forest Park, 18100 Park Entrance Road, Triangle, VA. Walkers are welcome. A virtual race option is available. The event benefits Semper Fi & America’s Fund. Runners receive a finisher’s coin, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and chip timing.
Course and logistics
The 5k is a trail run. The 10k is roughly half trail and half pavement. The half-marathon is mostly pavement (about 60%). The course includes hills; course maps and elevation details are provided by the organizer. Parking is off the main road into Prince William Forest Park, with a meeting area at Williams Ballfield; a latitude/longitude pin is provided by the organizer for navigation.
Water stations and aid:
- Half-marathon: eight water stations at approximate mile markers 1.55, 3.3, 4.55, 5.6, 8, 10, 11, and 11.65; some stations include Gatorade.
- 10k: three water stations at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65.
- 5k: one water station at approximately mile 1.55.
Packet pickup is available at the event. There is no on-site race registration. The organizer posts live results and final results after the race.
Entry, awards and policies
Registration fees vary by distance and increase after May 31; a small additional fee applies on race morning. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before June 17. The half-marathon has a completion time limit of 3:15. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in multiple age groups; top three overall finishers are not eligible for age-group awards.
