Summer Day 5k 10k 15k Half Marathon : Lake Balboa, Van Nuys
The event on September 6, 2026 at Woodley Park in Lake Balboa offers multiple race distances around Woodley Park and the Lake Balboa area. The course is an open, out and back style on shared paths; participants are asked to be courteous to pedestrians, runners, and cyclists and to use the pedestrian tunnel rather than crossing Woodley Avenue.
Distances offered:
- 5k one loop
- 10k two loops
- 15k three loops
- Half marathon three repeats of a 4.36 mile loop
Aid stations are available on every loop and provide water cups, bottled water, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels. The course description notes one small hill approximately 0.6 miles from the start. Live results and event photos are provided; bibs should be visible on the front for photos and result recording. Registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, free photos and videos, and access to an event app for race tracking. There is a published time limit of 3 hours 15 minutes; requests for alternative start arrangements can be made through the organizer.
Parking is available in the lots off Woodley Avenue and Victory Boulevard, with additional overflow parking across Woodley Avenue near the golf course; pedestrian tunnel use is required when accessing the other side.
