Event overview

The Summer Dash at Black Hill Regional Park on July 19, 2026 offers chip-timed road/trail races over 5k and 10k distances. The event awards points toward the organizer's year-long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Summer Series. A virtual race option is offered for participants who cannot attend in person. The event partners with the charity Operation Turbo.

Course, logistics, and services

Both distances follow paved trail out-and-back routes through Black Hill Regional Park. The course includes a number of rolling hills; the 10k is not run as two laps. Runners receive a finisher coin and a technical (DriFit) event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before July 8. Packet pickup is available at the event. Race day registration is permitted, with shirt sizes not guaranteed for race-day registrants.

Water stations:

  • 5k: two stations at about miles 1 and 2.1.
  • 10k: three stations at about miles 1, 3.1, and 5.2. Gatorade will be available at some stations.

Restrooms are located inside the park. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
