Sullivan Lake Triathlon 2026
Sullivan Lake Triathlon takes place in the Sullivan Lake Recreational Area of the Colville National Forest near Ione, Washington. The main adult course covers 25.75K and begins with a 750 m swim in Sullivan Lake from the Noisy Creek Campground boat launch.
The bike leg is 20 km on Sullivan Lake Road with a turnaround at Mill Pond Campground and a return to the Noisy Creek Day Use Area. The run is an out and back of 2.5 km along Sullivan Lake Road to the Harvey Creek Bridge and back to the Noisy Creek Day Use Area.
Distances for the event categories include:
- 25.75K main adult triathlon
- Youth super sprint: 500 m swim, 10 km bike, 3 km run
The youth super sprint is for ages 10 to 17. Water support will be present during the youth swim and attendants will staff the bike and run turnarounds. Minimal float devices on arms or pool noodles are allowed for youth only. Youth start as a separate wave and parent supervision is required in the transition area. Sullivan Lake Road will not be closed to traffic during the race.
There are team and wave options including two or three person adult teams, youth teams of up to three participants, and a Friends and Family wave start. Participants receive a t shirt, swim cap, racing bib, and a finisher medal. The event operates under a Special Use Permit from the Colville National Forest.
Lodging options in nearby Ione and multiple campground choices are listed by the organizer. Mill Pond and Moon Flats campgrounds are fee free, first come first serve and can accept a 25 foot RV.
