Sugarbush Shenanigans

Part of the OUTRace Series, Sugarbush Shenanigans takes place at Sugarbush Vineyards & Winery in Hillier, Ontario. The event offers solo and team formats based on timed durations.

Available formats

  • 6 hour solo
  • 12 hour solo with night option
  • 24 hour solo
  • 24 hour relay team

The course is a roughly 3 km loop, flat and non-technical, running half through a private wooded trail and half through an open meadow around the vineyard.

Participants complete repeated laps of the loop until their allotted time ends. Continuous running is not required; breaks between laps are permitted. Participants should inform the timing crew when they are officially finished if leaving the course before their race time is over. Relay teams may divide loops as they wish provided each member runs the loop at least once.

Timing is manual. Awards will be given to the top male and female who accumulate the most loops within their chosen time frame, and a group prize will be awarded to the relay team with the most loops. Swag will be provided to all participants and sizes must be selected by the stated cutoff date.

Tent-only camping is allowed the evening before the event at no additional cost; support people may camp as well. Campers must supply their own water as there are no water hook ups on site. A designated area will be available for tents, chairs, and drop bags. The venue is private property and an operational vineyard; unauthorized access or disrespect of the land may result in disqualification and removal.

An aid station will offer water, snacks and typical aid station fare. A hot food menu will include made-to-order grilled cheese, perogies and late-night alcoholic options for those 18 and over. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own water bottle or hydration system. Porta potties with hand-washing stations will be on site; there are no showers or change rooms. A yoga tent with scheduled group sessions will also be available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
