The County Marathon 2026
The 23rd annual County Marathon takes place in the Prince Edward County region of Ontario. This event features road races certified by Athletics Canada, serving as accurate qualifiers for major international events, including the Boston Marathon. The route winds through countryside scenery, passing local wineries and lake views.
Participants can choose from a variety of race distances and formats:
- Full Marathon (42.2 km)
- Marathon Relay for teams of 2 to 5 people
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
- 5K Run
- Ultra 50 KM
- Virtual options for the Full and Half Marathon
The Full Marathon and Ultra races start in Wellington at the Lehigh Centre, which provides indoor facilities and bag drop services. The Half Marathon begins at West Lake. All races finish in front of the Prince Edward County Fairgrounds located in Picton.
A free shuttle service is provided on race morning to transport runners from the Picton Community Centre parking lot to their respective start lines. Courses are supported with aid stations providing water and refreshments. The event also facilitates fundraising for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
