About the race
The County Marathon is a multi-distance running event held in Prince Edward County, Ontario on October 4, 2026. The weekend features measured, certified courses and a range of race options that use local roads and town centres.
Distances offered:
- Full Marathon : 42.2 km (Boston-qualifying course)
- Half Marathon : 21.1 km
- Marathon Relay : teams of 2 to 5 people
- 5K Fun Run : 5 km
- County Kids 1K : 1 km
Both the Full and Half Marathon courses are Athletic Canada Certified Courses, and the full marathon is an accurate qualifier for major international marathons. The marathon course begins in Wellington, the half marathon pickup is near Sandbanks Provincial Park, and the finish is in Picton in front of the Crystal Palace.
The 5K Fun Run starts and finishes at the Picton Fairgrounds and follows a simple out-and-back route along Main Street to the corner of Lake Street or County Road 10. Race services noted for the 5K include a water station at 2 km (accessed on return at 3 km), toilets at water stations, full medical services on route and at the finish, no strollers allowed, and top finisher recognition by overall and age categories.
