Sugar Skull Fun Run : 12th Annual
Bernalillo County presents the 12th annual Sugar Skull Fun Run on Tingley Drive, along the stretch between Central Avenue and 8th Street in Albuquerque, NM. The event offers a mix of timed and untimed options and encourages participants to wear Día de los Muertos attire.
Distances:
- 5K timed event for runners and walkers.
- 1 Mile untimed strut and stroll for strollers and pets.
Children ages five and younger may participate for free. Registration fees are listed for different age categories and event types. Race shirts are distributed at packet pickup; sizes are available on a first come, first served basis, shirts run large, and exchanges are not available. Race shirts for the free children category are available for purchase during registration until September 21.
Parking near the course is very limited. Street parking is available nearby and additional parking is offered at the Monte Carlo Steakhouse, about an 11 minute walk to the start area. A complimentary shuttle runs between that parking location and the start area. Food trucks and the Muerto Market are open to the public. Pets are permitted for the one mile strut and stroll.
The event takes place rain or shine and refunds are not available. Packet pickup is scheduled at Sports Systems, 6915 Montgomery Blvd, Albuquerque, NM, on the Friday and Saturday before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
