Run to Remember 5K : Sugar Grove Park District

The Run to Remember 5K & Fun Run is a community event held in Sugar Grove to honor the memory and impact of a longtime local resident. The event is organized by the Sugar Grove Park District and recognizes a 2026 honoree whose decades of service and local involvement shaped the community.

The 2026 honoree was a lifelong Sugar Grove resident known for a long record of community service. Roles and activities included milk delivery and driving jobs, long-term service with the volunteer fire department including many years as chief, efforts to welcome women into fire service, service on the village board, coaching youth baseball, and participation in local civic groups. The honoree’s family chose to partner with the Sugar Grove Historical Society to preserve and share community history.

Logistics noted by the organizer include the event date and the location at Harter Middle School. Parking lots may close before the race begins for participant safety. Race bib pickup before race day is to be determined; participants will receive additional information. Sponsor and partner recognition will be added as details are finalized.
