10th Anniversary Sugar Daddy Race
The Sugar Daddy Race is an annual running event held in Santa Clarita, California. The 2026 edition takes place on Father's Day weekend and features a variety of distances held on paved surfaces. Participants run through the Santa Clarita Valley, following a course that utilizes the local paved paseos and trails along the Santa Clara River.
The event offers several race categories to accommodate different preferences:
- Half Marathon: A 13-mile loop route.
- 10K: A loop route.
- 5K: An out-and-back route.
- Kids Fun Run: A 500-meter out-and-back race for children aged 3 to 12.
The course is designed to be fast and is described as almost flat. A notable feature of the route is the final stretch, where runners cross the historic Iron Horse Bridge toward the finish line. This bridge, built in 1898, is a local landmark that has appeared in several motion pictures.
The event provides extensive course support, including six aid stations stocked with water, electrolytes, gels, and snacks. Upon crossing the finish line, participants receive a custom-designed finisher medal. A unique feature of the post-race celebration is the provision of free Ben & Jerry's ice cream, including both dairy and dairy-free options, alongside traditional refreshments. Early check-in is available the day before the race, with race-day check-in also provided. Matches start shortly after sunrise to manage the summer temperatures.
