Event Overview
The Master's University Winter 5K is an annual running event held in Santa Clarita, California. The race begins and ends at the North Campus of The Master's University. Since its inception in 2011, the event has utilized a route that incorporates local natural spaces and campus grounds.
The available distances for this event include:
- 1k Kids K (restricted to participants aged 13 and under)
- 5k Challenge (intended for participants aiming for a finish time of 35 minutes or less)
- 5k Run/Walk (open to all participants for running, jogging, or walking)
Course and Terrain
The course starts on the university’s north campus and leads through Placerita Canyon and the Quigley Canyon Open Space before returning to the start line. The route is described as entirely flat and features varying terrain. A specific course for the 1k distance takes place around the Placeritos block.
Race Day Information
Check-in and packet pickup take place at the North Campus. Participants receive a race number, a timing chip, and a souvenir t-shirt. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for those who register before mid-December. All finishers in the 1k and 5k events receive a t-shirt and a medallion.
Parking is available in several university lots, including P1, P2A, P2B, P2C, P4, and the Centennial lot. Parking is not permitted at North Campus (P3). The event organizers recommend carpooling for all attendees.
