SudburyROCKS!!! Marathon
The SudburyROCKS!!! Marathon is an annual competitive running event held in downtown Sudbury, Ontario. Since its inception in 2005, the race has grown to become Northern Ontario’s largest running event, attracting over 2,000 participants each year. The event is organized by volunteers from the Sudbury Rocks!! Running Club and starts and finishes on Minto Street, located beside Tom Davies Square.
The marathon distance serves as a Boston Qualifier, catering to long-distance runners seeking official qualification. The event provides a variety of course distances for both runners and walkers:
- Marathon (42.2 km)
- Team Marathon Relay (8-person teams completing the full 42.2 km)
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 km (Free event for children)
The mission of the race is to support public health and fitness while contributing to the local community. The event acts as a fundraiser, having raised more than $1 million for local charities since it began. Proceeds from the 2026 race are dedicated to supporting cancer care through the Health Sciences North Foundation.
