Apex Adventure Challenge
The Apex Adventure Challenge is presented as Sudbury's first adventure race, scheduled for August 29, 2026, at Kivi Park in Sudbury, Ontario. Teams of two or three navigate a course that includes canoeing, mountain biking, and trekking while using a map and compass.
The event format is 3 to 5 hours of mixed stages with a total distance of 30 to 45 km. Routes include marked sections and unmarked navigation. Distances by discipline:
- Mountain Bike: 20 to 30 km
- Trek: 6 to 9 km
- Paddle: 4 to 7 km
Competition categories are teams of two or three with divisions for all-male, all-female, coed, Masters, and a Family category. The Family category requires at least one racer under 13 years of age. Masters teams must have all members aged 45 or older; gender sub-categories for Masters are offered only when at least five teams enter each gender class. Included with the event are park entry fees, a professionally designed and managed race course, chip timing, bib numbers and holders, bike plates, custom swag items such as a t-shirt, socks and a cap, and prizes for the top three in each category.
