Apex Adventure Challenge
The Apex Adventure Challenge takes place on August 29, 2026 in the Sudbury Region. It is presented as Sudbury's first adventure race and is organised for teams of two or three participants.
The event combines mountain biking, trekking and paddling stages with map and compass navigation. Estimated completion time is 3 to 5 hours and total distance ranges from 30 to 45 km. The course includes marked sections and unmarked sections.
Distances:
- Mountain bike: 20 to 30 km
- Trek: 6 to 9 km
- Paddle: 4 to 7 km
Categories include teams of 2 and teams of 3 with divisions for all-male, all-female, coed and masters. A family category is open to teams of 2 or 3 with at least one racer under 13 years of age. Masters divisions are for teams whose all members are 45 years or older; gender sub-categories for masters are offered only when there are at least 5 teams in each gender class.
Included for participants are park entry fees, a professionally designed race course, custom swag items (for example t-shirt, socks, cap), chip timing, bib numbers, a bib number holder, bike plates and prizes for the top three in each category.
