Stumptown Trail Runs : Memorial Day weekend

The Stumptown Trail Runs take place May 23–25, 2026, in Forest Park in Portland, Oregon. The event features two race distances:

  • 50K
  • Half Marathon

Both races benefit the Forest Park Conservancy. The event is the only 50K held in Portland and uses segments of the Wildwood Trail, a National Recreation Trail. Capacity is listed as 200 entrants per distance. Registration closes May 15.

Courses and logistics

The 50K route covers multiple park trails and has almost 4,000' of elevation gain. The Half Marathon includes hills with about 1,800' of gain and loss. These are running events, not walking races. Every finisher receives a pint glass. Post-race food differs by distance: half marathon finishers receive grilled cheese and soup, and 50K finishers receive burgers; spectator meals are available for a fee.

Parking is on neighborhood streets near the start; carpooling or public transit is recommended. There is no parking for spectators at aid stations. The event organizer’s cancellation policy: cancellations more than 30 days before the race receive a 50% credit toward a future race; cancellations 30 days or less before the race receive no credit. Transfers to other runners are not permitted. Awards include podium prizes for top finishers by gender category and age-group awards in 10-year categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
