Stromlo Running Festival in Canberra
The Stromlo Running Festival is an annual trail and road running event held at Stromlo Forest Park in Canberra. The 17th edition takes place over two days, 14 and 15 November 2026. The venue is a purpose-built running and cycling facility with on-site amenities and parking.
The festival offers multiple race distances and a children’s event:
- Marathon (42.2 km)
- 30 km
- 15 km
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2.5 km Kids Run
The event is ITRA and UTMB indexed and is described as family friendly and inclusive. It is supported by the ACT Government and several community and commercial partners. The University of Canberra returns with a Recovery Hub that provides free post-run support led by physiotherapy students under supervision.
Bibs are available for collection before the event at the Canberra and Region Visitor Information Centre, at an event eve collection point at the Stromlo Forest Park Event Hub, and on event days at the Stromlo Forest Park Event Hub. Stromlo Forest Park offers paid parking (487 spaces) and a free 15 minute drop-off zone.
The festival references the 2003 Canberra bushfires and acknowledges community strength and resilience. There are no prize presentations on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
