The event is sponsored by Clinch Valley Health. Participants pass through a large colon display as part of an awareness effort about rising rates of colon cancer and other digestive diseases, including cases among younger people. All donations benefit the Clinch Valley Auxiliary to support local health and wellness initiatives.
Packet pickup and late registration are located at the Richlands Railroad Section Forman's House. Race timing is provided by We Run Events using B-tag timing attached to bib numbers. Results are available after the event at on-site kiosks or via the posted results system.
Participation rules require registered participants to wear their official race bib and follow the designated course route. The event is open to runners, walkers, and wheelchair athletes. No bicycles, skateboards, or rollerblades are permitted. Baby strollers are allowed toward the back of the starting pack. Well behaved, leashed dogs are permitted.
