2026 Stride to SAVE Lives 5k/10k
The Stride to SAVE Lives is a community walk and run event held at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Organized by Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE), the event aims to bring people together to support mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Participants can choose between two primary distances that follow scenic routes around the lake:
- 5 km
- 10 km
Registration for the event is free of charge due to local sponsorships. The first 500 participants to register receive a commemorative T-shirt. While there is no fee to enter, the organization accepts donations, and a local foundation has committed to doubling all funds raised through the event. These contributions support programs such as The Green Bandana Project and workplace suicide prevention training.
The event features a memorial tent where attendees can share photos and written memories of loved ones. Art supplies are provided on-site for creating messages or pictures to be displayed. On-site registration and bib pickup are available on the morning of the event for those who did not register online. The course provides a communal space for reflection and remembrance while winding through the outdoor landscape of Lake Harriet. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
