About the race

The 6th Annual Stride for Pride takes place on June 7, 2026, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, at the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail on Olive Street. The event is presented in partnership with Action Together NEPA and is associated with Queer NEPA, an LGBTQIA+ organization dedicated to culture, community, and justice.

The event includes the following distances:

  • 5K Run
  • Virtual 5K Run

Virtual entrants submit their results to Scranton Running Company for scoring; results will be posted after the event. Participants are encouraged to use parking across the street at Scranton Running Company.

This is a family-friendly event. Children under 10 who are accompanied by a registered adult or guardian may participate for free; free participation does not include event shirts and participation medals are provided based on supplies available. Event shirts are guaranteed for runners registered by 5/17; later registrants receive shirts while supplies last.

The trailhead and pavilion are pet-friendly; pets must be leashed and are requested not to be on the course during the event. Awards are given in Male, Female, and Non-Binary gender categories and are further subdivided by age groups: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
