Event Overview
The 6th Annual Stride for Pride features a 5K Run and a Virtual 5K Run. The in-person event takes place on the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail on Olive Street in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Event Details
Participants can choose from two options:
- A 5K Run on the trail in Scranton.
- A Virtual 5K Run that can be completed anytime on the Friday or Saturday before the main event. Results are submitted to Scranton Running Company for scoring and will be displayed the following Monday.
Children under 10 years old can participate for free when accompanied by a registered adult or guardian, though a t-shirt is not included with free entry. The trailhead and pavilion area are pet-friendly for leashed pets, but pets are requested not to be on the course during the event.
The organizing entity is Queer NEPA, an LGBTQIA+ organization focused on culture, community, and justice in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Additional Information
Event t-shirts are guaranteed for participants registered by May 17. Awards are given based on male, female, and non-binary gender categories, with sub-divisions by age group. Participants are encouraged to park across the street from the Scranton Running Company. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
