Strength In Colors 5K & KIDS DASH

Strength In Colors 5K & KIDS DASH is an annual community event that brings families, survivors, and community partners from across Ohio together to raise awareness of six cancers that can be caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Funds raised support patients, education, prevention programs, and patient assistance across the state.

The event features a run and a dedicated kids race and includes activities for families and for dogs. The 2026 gathering is listed for July 26 at the Westerville Sports Complex. Organizers work with community partners, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers to provide wellness exhibits and program grants.

The cancers highlighted include cervical, head and neck, penile, anal, vulva, and vaginal cancers, which affect both women and men. The event materials note that many of these cancers are preventable through vaccination, screening, and education.

Recent editions reported community fundraising and participation outcomes. In 2025 the event raised more than $18,000 and hosted a record number of participants. In 2024 organizers reported 169 participants and over $16,000 raised, with grants awarded to local patient support and health programs.
