Event Summary
The Strength in Colors 5K & Kids Dash is a community running event held at the Westerville Sports Complex in Westerville, Ohio. The event supports cancer patients and survivors and aims to raise awareness for cancer prevention. The day features activities for the entire family.
Distances
The event offers two in-person races:
- A timed 5K run/walk.
- A Kids Dash for participants aged 10 and under. All children in this race receive a prize.
Event Features
The morning includes a welcome and tribute to cancer patients and survivors, followed by a pre-race warm-up. A post-race "Family Zone" provides an area for participants to relax. The zone features local vendors selling food and drinks, and complimentary post-race snacks are available.
Several activity areas are planned:
- Wellness Row, offering free biometric screenings and the HPV vaccine from The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center Community Care Coach, plus health education materials.
- Kids Zone, with balloon twisters, face painters, and a craft station.
- Canine Corner, where dogs on leashes can receive treats.
