Event Details
The Southern Tier Running Club (STRC) hosts the STRC Trailfest at Newtown Battlefield State Park. This event is a timed trail challenge on a 1-mile loop course with roughly 300 feet of elevation gain per loop.
Race Format
The format is a 3-hour timed event. Participants run as many loops as they can within the time limit; only loops completed before the 3-hour mark are counted. Runners, hikers, and walkers can participate for any duration they choose.
Course and Amenities
The looped trail course takes place within the state park. A stocked aid station is located at the start and finish area. After the run, there is a social gathering with food provided, including burgers, hot dogs, sides, and vegetarian or vegan options. The gathering features a covered pavilion, picnic tables, a large field, and yard games.
Included with Entry
The entry fee includes access to the aid station, post-run food, a custom BOCO Gear hat for all participants, a finisher medal, and custom awards for the male and female winners. A portion of the proceeds supports a local trails organization.
