STRC Trailfest at Sugar Hill : Watkins Glen, NY
STRC Trailfest is a timed loop trail event held on September 5, 2026, at Sugar Hill State Forest near Watkins Glen, NY. Participants choose from three durations: a 3-hour, 6-hour, or 12-hour timed event. The course is a roughly 4 mile trail loop with about 500 feet of elevation gain per loop.
A staffed aid station is located at the loop start/finish to provide food and hydration. Entry fees are listed for each duration: $65 for the 3-hour, $85 for the 6-hour, and $100 for the 12-hour. Participant benefits include a custom BOCO Gear hat, finisher medal, and custom awards for male and female winners. A portion of proceeds will support a local trails organization.
The event includes a post-run gathering with grilled food and vegetarian and vegan options under a covered pavilion with picnic tables. Camping is available within Sugar Hill State Forest on a first-come, first-serve basis; 26 designated campsites are in the Fire Tower Recreation Area and additional primitive sites and lean-tos exist elsewhere in the forest. There is no trash pickup; facilities are carry-in, carry-out where noted.
Parking is limited and the event is capped at 100 participants. No parking is permitted on the road leading to the Fire Tower Area. Volunteer roles will include parking, aid station support, post-run food, and course clearing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
