STRAIN FOR THE BRAIN is an annual fundraiser held in Milwaukee to honor people diagnosed with brain tumors and their supporters. The 2026 event is the 16th running and takes place at Veterans Park, 1010 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53202. Funds raised support brain tumor research, medical treatments, and support programs; the event has donated over $600,000 to brain tumor research at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin. Current fundraising progress is listed toward a $200,000 goal.

The 1 Mile Walk and 5K have set entry fees; survivor categories are free. Participants who register by May 16 are guaranteed a unisex cotton race shirt; gold shirts are provided to brain cancer survivors. Packet pickup is available both before the event and on race day, with team packet pickup offered for teams of five or more. The course has one aid station. The race is chip timed; walkers are not timed. Top three male and female finishers in five-year age groups receive a custom medal and an awards ceremony will be held. Parking is available on-site and on nearby public streets. Pets are not permitted. Refunds are not allowed; transfers, deferrals, and bib changes are available.
