Event Overview

Strain for the Brain is an annual running and walking event that takes place at Veterans Park in Milwaukee. The purpose of the event is to honor individuals diagnosed with a brain tumor and celebrate their supportive family and friends. Funds raised contribute to brain tumor research, medical treatments, and support programs.

Race Details

The event features four different activities:

  • 1 Mile Walk
  • 5K run or walk
  • Survivor - 1 Mile Walk (free registration for survivors)
  • Survivor - 5K (free registration for survivors)

All events start together. The course is at Veterans Park, located at 1010 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive. The route is primarily on paved park paths with gentle turns and minimal elevation change, described as scenic and runner-friendly.

Additional Information

Packet pickup occurs on the morning of the event. There is one on-course aid station that participants pass twice. The event includes a silent auction with winners required to be present to claim items. Pets are not permitted. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in 5-year increments for the 5K event. Event insurance is available for purchase during registration. A fee waiver is available for persons with financial limitations by contacting the organizers.
