Straightening The Path 5K

Straightening The Path is a charity 5K held June 28, 2026 at WakeMed Cary Soccer Park, 201 Soccer Park Drive, Cary, NC 27511. The event raises funds and awareness for scoliosis education, early detection, and support, with net proceeds designated for the National Scoliosis Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3).

The event offers entry options for 5K participants: timed, untimed, and a virtual supporter entry. Timed entries receive an official finish time, are listed in the results, and are eligible for awards. Untimed entries are not listed in the results and are not eligible for awards. The virtual supporter entry includes a t-shirt and swag bag mailed to the participant.

Registration opens March 9 for the 5K entries and March 19 for the virtual supporter entry. Fee tiers for the 5K and untimed entries include $35 early registration, with higher fees for later registration periods; ages 12 and younger have a reduced fee. Team discounts apply for groups of 10 or more and 20 or more members.

All participants and virtual supporters receive a t-shirt and swag bag if registered by June 14; sizes are not guaranteed for later registrations. The course will have direction signs and volunteers, a water station roughly halfway, water at the Start/Finish line for participants, and fruit and snacks available. Awards are presented to top overall finishers and to top finishers by age groups; recipients must be present to receive awards.
