Scenic 7 - Stowmarket Striders
The Scenic 7 is a road race covering 7 miles on a largely flat course with a couple of undulations. The route starts at Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre, runs through Onehouse and Harleston, includes a three-mile loop near Harleston, and then returns along the same roads to the finish.
Entrants must be aged 16 or over on race day. Advance entry fees listed in the event information are Affiliated £16 and Unaffiliated £18. The course has a single water station and a warm-up area on the Stowmarket High School playing fields behind the leisure centre. Runners assemble in the high school car park and are led to the start to reduce traffic disruption.
Prizes are awarded to the first three men and women, with additional first-place veteran category awards and team prizes for men and ladies (three to score). A memento is provided to all finishers. A certificate of course accuracy is recorded as SEAA 23/219 and the UK Athletics road race licence number is listed as TBC.
For safety the organisers close the course at 11.30am; runners remaining after this time may be without marshal support. Use of audio equipment with earphones is not permitted during the race. Facilities at race headquarters include changing, toilets, showers, a staffed bag storage area, and on-site refreshments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
