Stowmarket Half Marathon & 10K
Stowmarket Striders organise an annual half marathon race from Stowupland and, from 2026, an additional 10K event. Both races are chip timed and held under UK Athletics rules with race licence to be confirmed. Course accuracy certificates are provided.
- Half Marathon : open to entrants aged 17 years and older on race day
- 10K : open to entrants aged 15 years and older on race day
The routes use a mixture of B class roads and quiet single track country lanes through undulating, scenic Suffolk countryside. Apart from the start area, roads are not closed to traffic; runners must keep to the left unless directed otherwise and are responsible for stopping at junctions if a situation is unsafe. Marshals do not have authority to stop traffic.
Race headquarters are at Stowupland High School, with parking, bag drop, toilets and refreshments available at the venue. First aid medics will be present and there are regular water stops along the routes. The course closes three hours after the start of the race.
Entry fees are set per race with an affiliated runner discount applied. The organiser operates a non refundable policy but allows transfers of places via the entry system. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and across multiple veteran categories. Use of audio headphones is prohibited and may lead to disqualification.
