Stowmarket Half Marathon & 10K
Stowmarket Striders organise a chip-timed road race meeting with two distances on a revised course that starts and finishes at Stowupland High School in Suffolk. The routes use B class roads and quiet single-track country lanes and run through undulating rural countryside. Roads are not closed to traffic except in the start area; runners must keep to the left unless directed by an official and must take personal responsibility at junctions.
Distances
- Half Marathon - open to entrants aged 17 years and older on race day
- 10K - open to entrants aged 15 years and older on race day
The event is held under UK Athletics rules with course accuracy certificates for both distances. There are regular water stations along the route and first aid medics on site. Use of audio headphones is prohibited for safety and breach may lead to disqualification. All finishers receive a memento and prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers plus multiple veteran age categories for men and women.
Facilities at race headquarters include parking, registration, refreshments, bag drop and toilets; changing facilities are not available. The course closes three hours after the race start. Entry fees are published for online and on-the-day entry with a small affiliated runner discount; transfers between runners are permitted via the entry system. A copy of the race risk assessment is available on the race notice board. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
