Stowmarket Half Marathon and 10K
Stowmarket Striders organise an annual half marathon and 10K from Stowupland near Stowmarket in Suffolk. The event uses a revised course introduced in 2024 and is chip timed and run under UK Athletics rules. Entries open online and on-the-day entries may be available if the race is not full.
Distances
- Half Marathon for entrants aged 17 years and older.
- 10K for entrants aged 15 years and older.
Both routes run on quiet rural B roads and single-track country lanes through undulating countryside. Apart from the start area, roads are not closed to traffic; runners must keep to the left and follow marshal instructions. Use of audio headphones is prohibited and may lead to disqualification. Regular water stations will be provided on the course, and first aid medics will be available.
Facilities at race headquarters at Stowupland High School include parking, race registration, bag drop, toilets and refreshments; there are no changing facilities. The course will close three hours after the start and anyone still on the course after that time may be without marshal support.
Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and in multiple veteran age categories. Course measurement certificates are published for both distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
