Storming the Castle 10K - Carrickfergus
Storming the Castle is a 10 km road race scheduled for Sunday, 23 August 2026. The event is based at the Amphitheatre Leisure Centre, Carrickfergus BT38 7HP, and numbers are capped at 1,000 entrants.
The route starts from Carrickfergus Amphitheatre and follows the promenade along the Marine Highway and waterfront. The course passes the marina with views over Belfast Lough and finishes near the 12th Century Norman Castle by Carrickfergus town centre. The organisers describe the course as fast and flat.
Prizes will be awarded to the first three male and female finishers and a range of age category prizes including male and female juniors (15-19). Entrants must be at least 15 years of age on race day and should provide their age category at the date of the race. There are additional club awards: a Running Club Team prize for the top three fastest finishers by gender and a prize for the best represented club; club members must enter their club when registering for results to count.
The event offers post-race hospitality and family entertainment. Early bird pricing applies until 30 April 2026: ANI affiliated members £18 plus admin fee and non-affiliated £20 plus admin fee. From 1 May until 16 August (subject to availability) prices increase to £20 and £22 plus admin fee respectively. Entries cannot be deferred and are non-refundable.
