Storming the Castle 10K - Carrickfergus, 23 August 2026
The tenth running of Storming the Castle takes place in Carrickfergus with the Amphitheatre Leisure Centre listed as the event location. The route starts at Carrickfergus Amphitheatre, follows the promenade along the Marine Highway and waterfront, passes the marina with views over Belfast Lough, and finishes at the 12th century Norman Castle near Carrickfergus town centre.
The event distance is listed as 10 km and the course is described by organisers as fast and flat. Entries are limited to 1,000 participants and entrants must be at least 15 years of age on race day. Post-race hospitality and family entertainment are included on the day.
Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and across age categories, including a junior category for ages 15 to 19. There is a running club team prize for the top three fastest finishers in male and female categories; club members must register their club to be counted. A prize for the best represented club is also listed.
Online ticket sales start 23 February 2026. Early bird pricing applies until 30 April 2026 with listed fees for affiliated and non-affiliated entrants; higher fees apply from 1 May to 16 August 2026.
