Storming the Castle 10K - Carrickfergus, 23 August 2026
The event is a ten kilometre road race held in Carrickfergus, with the Amphitheatre Leisure Centre as the event hub. The route starts at Carrickfergus Amphitheatre and follows the promenade along the Marine Highway and waterfront, passing the marina and offering views of Belfast Lough, before finishing at the 12th Century Norman Castle near the town centre.
The race distance is 10 km. Entries are limited to 1,000 participants. Competitors must be at least 15 years of age on race day. Prizes include 1st, 2nd and 3rd awards for male and female finishers, age category prizes including male and female juniors aged 15 to 19, a running club team prize for the top three fastest finishers for each gender, and a prize for the best represented club. Club members must enter their club when registering for team results to count.
Early bird registration is available until 30 April 2026 with pricing listed as Affiliated £18 plus admin fee and Non-affiliated £20 plus admin fee. From 1 May until 16 August 2026 prices increase to Affiliated £20 plus admin fee and Non-affiliated £22 plus admin fee. Entries cannot be deferred and are non refundable.
