Storming the Castle 10K 2026

The Storming the Castle 10K returns to Carrickfergus for its tenth edition on Sunday, 23rd August 2026. This road race features a fast and flat course designed for participants seeking personal best times. The event is capped at 1,000 participants and requires runners to be at least 15 years old on the day of the race.

The route begins at the Amphitheatre Leisure Centre and proceeds along the promenade of the Marine Highway and waterfront areas. Participants run past the marina with views across Belfast Lough. The race concludes at the 12th Century Norman Castle located near the center of Carrickfergus.

Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers, alongside various age category prizes ranging from juniors (15-19) to senior brackets. Competitive team prizes are available for the top three fastest finishers from recognized running clubs, both male and female. There is also a dedicated prize for the running club with the highest number of representatives.

Registration includes post-race hospitality and family entertainment. Entry fees vary based on affiliation with ANI clubs, with an early bird pricing period available until late April.
