Storm the Bastille 5K - 40th Anniversary
The Storm the Bastille 5K is a community road run in downtown Milwaukee held on July 9, 2026. The course travels through East Town and the Third Ward neighborhoods and is described as close to the full 5 kilometer distance; it is not officially certified. Walkers may complete the course and there is an option to end at a midway point that will be announced.
Registration opens in March and the entry fee listed for the 5K is $35. Registration includes a special edition 40th anniversary t-shirt, a timed bib, and a post-race Michelob Ultra or bottled water. Packet pickup is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7 at a location to be announced, with race day pickup from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. under the white tent in the northeast corner of Cathedral Square Park; pickup closes at 8:30 p.m.
The start line is on Jefferson Street heading south and the race finishes at the same location. Multiple water stations are planned with details to be announced. After the finish, participants can collect their post-race beverage via the water truck on Wells Street and redeem the drink coupon attached to the race bib at participating bar locations. The run takes place as part of the four-day Bastille Days festival at Cathedral Square Park, a free event that draws over 250,000 visitors annually.
