Stonehaven Half Marathon
Stonehaven Running Club organises the Stonehaven Half Marathon, held in Stonehaven on the first Sunday in July; the 2024 race is scheduled for 7 July 2024. The event is Scottish Athletics approved and entrants must be over 17 years old on race day.
The half marathon is run on a route made up of local roads and some forest tracks. The course is described as hilly, scenic and undulating and is not a closed road race; participants remain responsible for their own safety and must be aware of other road users. The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs. Running with buggies or pets is not permitted.
Practical arrangements include limited changing facilities and showers at the McRobert Pavilion, Mineralwell Park, Stonehaven AB39 3XY. Refreshments will be available to finishers and prizes will be presented in or by the McRobert Pavilion shortly after the race. There are four water stops on the route. The use of headphones other than bone conducting types is not permitted except on the off-road section. No on the day entries are permitted; online entry closes on 5 July 2024. Race numbers may be transferred to another runner until close of business on Wednesday 3 June 2024.
There will also be a 1K fun run at the park soon after the race starts; it is open to any age, free to enter, does not require registration and every finisher receives a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
