Stomp Out the Stigma : event description
The event on 08/09/2026 in Lakewood, Washington focuses on raising awareness of mental wellness and reducing the stigma associated with mental illness. Races take place at Fort Steilacoom Park and around Waughop Lake, with parking available at the Pierce College Fort Steilacoom campus and a short walk down a trail to the park.
Course surfaces are mostly paved with a short section of dirt and gravel. The 5K course is described as flat and begins by the lake, finishing at the lake entrance. The 1 mile course starts at the entrance of Waughop Lake and follows a scenic lap around the lake. The 5K is chip timed.
Race entry includes a race shirt for those who register by 7/21. Finishing medals will be awarded to the first 200 finishers. Strollers and dogs are not permitted at the event because of insurance restrictions.
