Stomp Out Sickle Cell 5K
This event is a certified 5K run and walk held at Mayor Roscoe Warren Municipal Park, 1400 E. Palm Drive, Homestead, FL 33035. The course starts inside the park, continues past parts of the city, and finishes at the top of the soccer field. Chip bib automatic timing is used for participants. The event takes place on September 26, 2026. Registration opens June 8, 2026 and closes September 26, 2026; the registration fee is $25.00.
The event supports patients, caregivers, and others affected by sickle cell anemia. Participants advocate and raise funds that support research and provide access to services for the sickle cell community. Sickle cell anemia is described as a genetic blood disorder that affects many nationalities, including African Americans, Hispanics, and people with ancestors from the Mediterranean region, Central America, India, Italy, Greece, and the Caribbean.
